I would like to take this opportunity to introduce not only our store but the people behind our store and give you a brief history on who you are dealing with to try to take the coldness away from dealing on the internet.

Big Boyz Toyz is a family run business that was started by my wife Jana and myself, John, in early 2004. After spending over 16 years in the car trade and running a successful paint, rust and fabric protection business we realized that it was time for a change. It was then we started looking for an alternative income as we just weren’t spending enough time with our two daughters and were missing out on the whole having children experience. We were really struggling for direction as I really loved the automotive trade because cars and bikes were my life for so long it was terrifying to imagine a life without them.

Then one day, my youngest daughters birthday was coming up, and she asked me for a Rock’N’Roll Elmo doll. Thinking that was an easy fix told her, no worries, daddy promises you will get one. Silly me should have checked first because these guys had not been available for a few years. I called every major retail outlet across Australia and kept coming up dry. A close family friend heard about my dilemma and suggested searching online for it overseas. We spent all night or best part of looking for an Elmo doll. Once again no luck. Then another friend suggested eBay. At this time I had no option and anxiety and desperation levels were running high. We went to the Australian eBay site and did a search for this elusive Rock’N’Roll Elmo. To my disbelief about 15 jumped up on my screen. I was saved. I got that excited I bought 2 because that’s just my peculiar way.

Later that week both my wife and I started going through the eBay site seeing how it all worked and what else we could buy. We bought plenty and found a lot of things that I didn’t even know existed. We were hooked. No more ringing around or driving out to look at things only to find it wasn’t what we were after. Even though we paid for the items already, every time we got a delivery we were stoked. Was like opening presents and the feeling was good. REAL GOOD.

We knew then we just had to be part of this whole experience in a more permanent way so we decided to start selling on eBay. Now the big question was what do we sell?

Being into fast cars, fast bikes fishing, hunting, speed boats and basically all things boyish myself, I suggested strongly a site for the boys. My wife agreed as she said it would keep me happy and it would be good to have a business that doesn’t only stock the one sort of item. So that’s what we did starting off with die-cast cars and bikes and then expanding into other areas such as belt buckles, clothes, ATV/Quads, trail bikes mens clothes and accessories.

Now we have our new online store and our aim is to stop the male population aging — at least mentally. Keeping imaginations alive and helping dreams become reality with our more then competitive pricing and wide range at Big Boyz Toyz, we are taking the pain out of buying a gift for yourself or for that special man in your life.
